A hatchet-wielding menace attacked a deliveryman on an e-bike, burying the blade in the victim’s leg, during an unprovoked attack in Chelsea, police said Tuesday.

The victim, 19, told police that he was near W. 26th St. and Sixth Ave. just before 10 a.m. on Monday when the suspect, who was tinkering with a moped, started arguing with him.

As the dispute continued, the deliveryman, who had a large insulated food delivery bag on his back, tried to pedal off, surveillance video shows. The suspect pulled a hatchet and lunged at the departing cyclist, striking him in the leg and foot and causing two deep cuts, police said.

The man with the hatchet jumped on his moped and sped off. No arrests have been made.

EMS took the wounded deliveryman to Bellevue Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The bicyclist told police he had no interaction with his attacker before the Monday morning clash, a police source said.

Cops released surveillance images Tuesday of the suspect, who is described as dark-skinned and sporting an Afro, a mustache and a goatee, in the hopes that someone recognized him.

The attacker was wearing a dark-colored jacket, purple hoodie and riding goggles, cops said.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
