The Nexode 140W charger from Ugreen has all the power you need for a business trip and is small ... [+] enough to pack in carry-on luggage.

As our laptops become more powerful, so do their needs in terms of wattage. We also need to charge all those other essentials to daily life, like smartphones and tablets. This need for power drives innovation in the charger market as third-party manufacturers race to produce compact and powerful wall chargers that can release the jumble of power bricks many of us need for business.

Ugreen’s brand new Nexode 140W charger is the latest model to join the brand’s Nexode family of chargers. Ugreen claims that the Nexode 140W can charge as fast as any charger currently on the market while also being able to fast charge three different devices simultaneously.

The Ugreen Nexode 140W GaN charger is faster, smaller and more efficient than most chargers.

The Ugreen Nexode 140W is a workhorse charger with three power ports and 140W of charging power. The PD3.1 fast-charging protocol enables the Nexode 140W to charge a 16-inch MacBook Pro from 0 to 56% in just 30 mins.

The charger also has additional flexibility thanks to its two USB-C ports and a single Type-A port for charging legacy devices. As a result, the Nexode 140W charger can fast charge a couple of laptops and a phone simultaneously, meeting the needs of a two-person office. In addition, it can charge a phone and tablet while the user is working on a laptop, making the charger an ideal device for boosting productivity.

The prongs for the Ugreen Nexode 140W GaN charger fold away for travel so the prongs don't damage ... [+] your other tech.

The Nexode 140W charger is 22% smaller than Apple’s own 140W MacBook Pro charger. That may not sound like a lot, but when bag space is at a premium when going on a business trip, every little helps. So replacing three bulky chargers with just one compact model makes much more sense. Better still, the Nexode 140W features folding prongs that unfold to fit a standard US power outlet.

The swift charging speed of the Nexode 140W is down to a GaN chip, making charging more efficient and better at dissipating heat. In addition, the GaN chip can deliver up to 92% of the energy from the wall outlet to the device. This means less electricity is wasted as heat, and the charger runs cooler than devices that use old-tech silicon circuitry.

The Ugreen Power Dispenser system also intelligently adjusts the power output to protect the battery of whatever device is being charged so that it will last longer. And to protect the charger from overheating, there is a Thermal Guard system that samples the temperature 800 times a second.

The power distribution of the the two USB-C ports and the USB-A port is incredibly flexible.

GaN technology is also responsible for reducing carbon emissions. According to Ugreen’s GaN chip partner, Navitas, GaN chips produce 4kg less carbon per chip than silicon chips. Navitas claims that the GaN chips in the Nexode chargers will save up to 5,503 tons of carbon from going into the atmosphere.

The Nexode 140W can fast charge most USB devices with a full complement to fast-charge protocols. So whether the Nexode 140W is used to charge Apple, Samsung, Dell, Lenovo, Huawei, or Xiaomi laptops, this charger has all the correct protocols to keep them juiced up at full speed.

Pricing & Availability: The Ugreen Nexode 140W GaN charger will be available on Amazon and Ugreen.com on September 13 at a recommended retail price of $149.99.
