You'll have to wait a little longer than 30 minutes for these deliveries, but 15 merchants are now shipping some of their best dishes with Uber Eats, including George’s Stone Crab in Miami.
If you're craving something from a restaurant not available in your area, Uber Eats' new nationwide delivery service may be able to help.
The food delivery service, which dates back to 2014, was previously limited to restaurants within biking/driving distance of your abode. With this new delivery option(Opens in a new window) , though, you can choose from a selection of restaurants from across the nation, which will ship your order out.
Inside the Uber Eats app, select the nationwide shipping tile. Pick a restaurant, choose your current craving, confirm your order, and you're done. You’ll receive a tracking number from FedEx and can expect your order to arrive within 5-7 business days.
Selection is currently pretty limited; only 15 merchants are available for nationwide delivery, including Waffles and Dinges in Brooklyn, Bludo’s BBQ in Los Angeles, and George’s Stone Crab in Miami. All 15 restaurants are based in California, New York, and Florida, so if you’re craving some beignets from Louisiana or lobster from Maine, you’ll still have to fork over for a plane ticket.
The move comes a few weeks after Uber Eats launched two autonomous delivery pilots in Los Angeles with Serve Robotics and Motional. For those dining in person with friends, meanwhile, the service added bill splitting in March.

In undergrad I was the guy you’d run to if you needed a charge, because I always had at least a few portable batteries in my bag at all times. A lifelong interest in technology has led me to PCMag, where I hope to hone my journalism skills while also getting to nerd out about the latest advancements in computer tech. I’m a current PC gamer and a former console gamer, slowly biding my time until the chip shortage is over.
I have over 20 years of casual gaming experience under my belt, mostly on Nintendo and Sony hardware.
I also spend an unsettling amount of time researching components to eventually upgrade my computer.
I use a GeForce RTX 2060 Super in my gaming rig, which also doubles as my writing and editing rig when I’m working on stories or making videos for school. I film those videos on my Sony Alpha a6400, and when I’m too lazy to carry it around I swap over to my OnePlus 9 Pro. I wear a Fossil Gen 3 Smartwatch, which I primarily use to send quick replies. I also rely on a pair of Sony WH-CH700N wireless headphones to stream podcasts and cancel out noise on my daily NYC subway commute.
In my downtime I like to play video games. I’m currently going through a backlog of titles including Control, Prey, and Wolfenstein: New Order.
