A total of 270 examples of these "dynamic" Polestars will be built for the world, and just 47 of them are bound for the US.

Polestar has always strived to bring out the sporty side of Volvo. Cars like the Volvo S60 Polestar and the V60 Polestar wagon are two of the most desirable underdogs from Sweden. But ever since Volvo's transit into the electrified world, and Polestar's foray as a standalone brand, there were questions on how Polestar's cool image will be retained. Well, the answer to all those doubts is the cool new 2023 Polestar 2 BST Edition 270.

This car shows us how the "racing" side of Polestar has evolved into the all-electric universe. While the power and torque figures are at par with that of a Tesla Model 3 Performance, Polestar has focused more on the driving dynamics, something that is talked and felt about very less among EVs. This is a very refreshing take on how EVs are looked upon, and we are glad that someone is willing to provide track-ready performance for a 5-figure price tag.

The powertrain layout is similar to that of a standard 2023 Polestar 2 but the BST Edition 270 gets a tiny bump in torque and a much bigger bump when it comes to the chassis and suspension layout. The exterior gets cooler too, with an optional body stripe and a full-body wrap. Taking the desirability level up another notch is the fact that the 2023 Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 is a limited-run EV.

A total of 270 of the "dynamic" Polestar 2 BST Edition 270s for the world, and just 47 of them for the US.

The BST Edition 270 uses the same two-motor package and a 78 kWh battery pack offered in a standard Polestar. But the motors are tweaked to churn out an additional 15 lb-ft of torque. This sporty Polestar 2 pumps out 476 hp (same as standard) and 502 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. This bump helps the BST Edition 270 to do 0-62 mph in 4.4 seconds (down from the 4.6 seconds of the standard dual-motor Polestar 2).

The major upgrades on this sportier Polestar 2 are to the chassis and suspension. The ride height has been lowered by about an inch. Polestar has developed bespoke Ohlins 2-way adjustable dampers for the front suspension. The adjustable chambers of these shocks are located in the bonnet and look dope.

Adding to the stability are a front strut bar and 20% stiffer springs. Completing this dynamic package are cool-looking 21-inch wheels that are wrapped with 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zeros that have been developed specifically for this Polestar 2. No tweaks to the brakes though, as the 4-piston Brembos are more than capable of handling the added muscle.

Even when Polestar was a performance division for Volvo, they were very subtle with visual appeal. Well, it is the same for this all-electric Polestar as well. The BST Edition 270 is offered in just two shades - Thunder or Snow. Distinguishing it from the standard Polestar 2 are painted bumpers and side skirts, and an optional black body stripe with "2" cut into it.

A full-body Battleship Gray satin wrap exclusive to this racier Polestar EV is also an optional extra. Additionally, those 21-inch wheels have been inspired by the ones seen on the Polestar 1. The side mirror covers are finished in a glossy black shade. The iconic Swedish Gold elements are retained with the gold Brembos and dampers, and valve caps.

The beautiful and minimalistic interior wrapped in wood and fabric has been retained. The only highlighting feature here is that all Polestar 2 BST Edition 270s come with a Charcoal WeaveTech interior. The lightweight and durable fabric add a different kind of drama to this sporty package.

The interior is spacious, comfy, and filled with eco-friendly materials. As for the technology bits, it retains the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a portrait-style 11.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system running on Google's Android Automotive software. Also, the cool Swedish Gold seat belts add just the right amount of sportiness.

For a limited-run model, the Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 is priced interestingly from $75,500. But if you want to get the visual drama as seen in the above images, you sure have to shell out extra. The body stripe with "2" on the bonnet will cost $1,000. But the priciest add-on is the full-body battleship Gray satin wrap at $5,000. Damn, show-off sure ain't cheap! The Polestar 2 BST Edition 270 deliveries would commence by 2022 end.
