Now let me get this straight. Plastic bags have been banned in the state. Yes, they are harmful to the environment, and we are better off eliminating them. At least they had a purpose, and many people reused them. But the closet alcoholics can buy a nip bottle, swig it, and toss it out the window and everything’s fine?, “A little help cleaning up,” (May 3).

Ninety million per year in our state? Never mind the pollution, don’t you think we have a little problem with enabling alcoholism by selling these products? Stop catering to the liquor lobby! The deposit on these products is useless, and if you look around our towns and cities the empties are everywhere! Does anyone really believe these funds will make a dent in nip litter?

What if the clean-up funds are channeled elsewhere?

Because nips cannot be recycled, why are they even being sold in our state? Where are the climate activists on this? Nips should be banned for sale in our state immediately.

The mental health crisis is a global one. But young men in other nations are not murdering 4th graders and grocery shoppers and churchgoers. The number of video gamers in the Asia Pacific and Europe dwarves the number here in America. Yet gamers in China, Japan and Germany are not massacring...

In his editorial, "Quit 'cherry picking' the Scripture to conform to secularity" (May 25), pompous misogynist Cal Thomas complains that pro-choice advocates “cherry pick"...

An AR-15 rifle can shoot 45 bullets in a minute. With a high-capacity magazine, it could easily surpass several hundred bullets. Is this a hunting rifle, or a military assault weapon that should not be in civilian hands? My late Grandpa hunted deer for many years with a single-shot shotgun.

“Can Biden do anything to lower the price of gas?,” (May 29). Joe can, but he won’t! He needs to go back to doing business like this country did...
