New Jersey must never go back to using 4.4 billion plastic bags each year. That bears repeating, just in case there is any lingering nostalgia for the manmade scourge that threatens to choke the planet.

We cannot tolerate those filmy monsters that have clogged our waterways, desecrated our greenspace, and killed our wildlife for decades. We cannot perpetuate the assault on generations of kids, now that science finds plastic particles in most human blood, the result of petroleum-based poison being in our food and water and air.
