A child without a helmet, illegal fireworks, and a body found at Lake Sawyer Park.

– Officers were dispatched to Farman Street regarding an abandoned car at a medical center around 5:16 p.m. Police made contact with a subject, who moved along.

– Police were called to a Cole Street business around 6:30 p.m. regarding fake money. Officers confiscated the counterfeit bills.

– Officers received a report of a suspicious bag on Wells Street around 10:33 p.m. The bag was an empty cooler.

– A traffic stop on Porter Street around 1:25 a.m. resulted in the driver being arrested for DUI.

– Police responded to an unwanted subject report on Harding Street around 4:28 a.m. The subject was evaluated by aid, but refused transport to a hospital.

– Officers were called back to Harding Street regarding an unwanted subject at their house around 7:11 a.m. Police contacted the subject, who agreed to move along.

– Police responded to a report of a child on a motorbike without a helmet on Kibler Avenue and Gossard Place around 9:58 a.m. Parents were contacted.

– Officers spoke with someone illegally parked in a handicap spot on Cole Street around 2:47 p.m.

– Police were dispatched to a one-car collision on Warner Avenue and Semanski Street around 9:26 p.m. The driver, who hit a sign and fire hydrant, was arrested for DUI and booked in the Enumclaw jail; bail was posted.

– Officers were called out to Winter Place around 11:44 p.m. regarding suspicious people outside the reporting party’s home. Police contacted the two subjects, who had been drinking and were lost. Officers helped them home.

– A traffic stop on 244th Avenue SE and McDougall Avenue resulted in the driver being arrested for DUI.

– Police aided a woman who locked their child in her car on Wells Street, around 9:11 a.m.

– Officers were called out to Charwila Lane around 4:04 p.m. for a theft report; the reporting party had footage of a subject taking tools from his home.

– A traffic stop on Griffin Avenue and Garfield Street around 12:04 a.m. resulted in a DUI arrest.

– Officers were dispatched to 264th Avenue SE and SE 385th to a report of pigs in the road, about 11:01 a.m. Police were unable to locate any swine.

– Police came across fireworks being lit off illegally on Olie Ann Place around 8:55 p.m. The offenders were educated about city rules.

– Another fireworks report, this time on Suntop Boulevard N. around 10:34 p.m., also resulted in the offending parties agreeing to wait to set off their explosives until the holiday.

– Officers came across a vehicle in the center of Roosevelt Avenue around 12:01 a.m. Subjects said they were looking for a missing dog.

– Police responded to Roosevelt Avenue around 4:02 p.m. regarding an assault report; one subject was arrested and booked.

– Officers were flagged down on Roosevelt Avenue around 4:20 p.m. to trespass an individual.

– Police came across two racing cars on Warner Avenue and Watson Street N around 1:42 a.m. Both drivers were cited.

– Officers received a report of a missing female in the Griffin Avenue area around 5:19 p.m. The reporting party later found the subject in town.

– Police took possession of an emaciated dog on Watson Street N around 6:50 p.m. King County Animal Control was contacted.

– Officers were dispatched to QFC to a disturbance report around 6:08 p.m.; one subject was arrested and booked.

– Officers were contacted around 12:46 a.m. regarding a theft from a house under construction on SE 312th St. Extra patrols were requested.

– Police were contacted by a King County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue detective around 1:20 p.m., advising them they would be searching the southeast area of Lake Sawyer Park for a Kent subject who had been missing for about a month. Cadaver dogs located a body and the ID was matched to the missing man.

– Officers contacted several individuals behind a 216th Avenue business around 11:43 p.m. One subject was briefly detained due to an arrest warrant, but was eventually released at the scene.

– Police stopped a speeding vehicle on Roberts Drive/Lake Sawyer Road around 3:50 p.m. The driver had several outstanding warrants out of the city of Bonney Lake and was driving with a suspended license; they were arrested and booked in the Enumclaw jail.

– Officers attempted to stop a speeding vehicle on 229th Place SE around 8:47 p.m. The vehicle fled northbound. Police then contacted the registered owner of the car, who said that they let someone else drive it.

– Police were called out to Camas Place SE around 12:05 a.m. to a report of fireworks. They did not hear or see anything.

– Officers were dispatched to SE Evergreen Street to a report of loud yelling coming from a nearby park around 3:53 p.m. They only saw several subjects playing basketball.

– Police saw a vehicle illegally parked on SE 312th Street around 7:23 p.m. The car hadn’t been registered since 2018 and the tabs were three years expired; it was impounded.

– Officers were called out to 3rd Avenue twice, both for a noise complaint. The first time police responded to the call, the amount of noise was reasonable for the hour. The second time, officers asked music be turned down.

It was a surprise family reunion of sorts, as the lead singer revealed he and Enumclaw’s mayor are related by marriage.

The first time around, the council was split – and the mayor, normally the tie-breaking vote, was absent.
