NEW ORLEANS (NOLA WEEKEND) - For the first time in two years, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival returns. Many festival-goers are mapping out what they need to pack for the Fair Grounds.
Jazz Fest officials warn some items are off-limits, including hard-sided coolers or personal tents. Festival-goers are also not allowed to reserve tarp space larger than 6′ x 8′, officials say.
Festival organizers release key information you need to know about Jazz Fest via its website, including this list of prohibited items to leave at home:
Festival organizers also prohibit any unauthorized vending or solicitation unless you’re an official, permitted fest vendor.
Festival-goers are also not allowed to insert stakes, poles or any objects into the ground to reserve space. Also, don’t try using ropes, cords or tape to reserve spaces either. Finally, reserving tarp space larger than 6′ x 8′ is strictly prohibited, according to festival organizers.
Prohibitions will be strictly enforced. All bags will be searched, and all vehicles will be subject to search.

Opening day of the 2022 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is April 29. Both of the event’s weekends will run April 29 – May 1 and May 5 – 8 at the Fair Grounds.
The Who, Stevie Nicks, Lionel Richie, Jimmy Buffett, Luke Combs, The Black Crowes, Willie Nelson and Erykah Badu headline this year’s event.
