Jay Bird’s has opened its first Inland Empire location at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.

The chain specializes in Nashville hot chicken.

The restaurant is at 12505 North Mainstreet, formerly a Johnny Rockets.

Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday, 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday.

Another location is planned for Riverside.

Mochinut has opened at 24940 Redlands Blvd., Suite A, Loma Linda, the former home of Ayda Ethiopian Restaurant, which closed in 2021.

It’s the fourth area location for the Hawaiian-style donut chain, following locations in Ontario, Riverside and Indio.

The chain also offers boba drinks and Korean rice flower hot dogs.

Hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.

Locations are also planned in Temecula and Corona.

Sugar Bloom Cakery & Coffee is open in Redlands.

The eatery offers a variety of baked goods — including cookies, pastries, brownies, macarons and cupcakes — along with coffee drinks.

Custom cakes are also available.

The shop is at 405 W. Redlands Blvd.

Hours are noon-7 p.m. Sunday, 7a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Seafood chain Bag O’ Crab has opened its first Inland Empire location in Rancho Cucamonga.

The chain specializes in boiled and fried seafood, but also offers chicken wings, po’ boy sandwiches, salads, soups and plates featuring grilled beef, katsu chicken and more.

Hours are noon-9 p.m. Sunday, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and 4:30-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m and 4:30-10 p.m. Friday and noon-10 p.m. Saturday.

Bag O’ Crab is at 11540 Fourth St., Suite 103, where Blazing Chicken formerly was.

Montclair-based Scoops on Tap, which specializes in ice cream infused with beer and other spirits (but also makes alcohol-free flavors) and is planning to open a scoop shop in Covina, is now available locally.

The downtown Riverside Slater’s 50/50 is the exclusive location serving Scoops on Tap’s ice creams.

The restaurant is serving scoops of ice cream for dining in, as well as offering a selection of pints to go.

Scoops on Tap won eight gold and two silver medals for its ice creams in this year’s 2022 Los Angeles International Dairy Competition.

Slater’s 50/50 is at 3750 University Ave. Suite 125.

Panera Bread has expanded its coffee subscription to include other beverages.

The chain’s drink subscription previously included just brewed hot tea, plus hot or iced coffee.

Panera’s Unlimited Sip Club now also includes new Charged Lemonades, along with iced tea and fountain drinks.

Subscribers can redeem their free drinks every two hours and can get unlimited refills while dining in.

The 30th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is set for Saturday, May 14.

Participation is simple. Just gather bags of non-perishable food and put them by your mailbox prior to delivery time on Saturday.

Your letter carrier will do the rest.

A few basic do’s and don’ts: Do donate items such as pasta, cereal, oatmeal, cooking oil, peanut butter and canned goods. Don’t donate expired food or items in glass containers.

The donations are earmarked for local food banks.
